Besides the landscaping this weekend, we kept pretty busy. Cory took a break from peeking out the windows to set up the tent in the basement. He's been wanting to have a "campout" with Brady since they missed the father/son campout because of the rain. Since the basement now has carpet it was the perfect open space to set it up. Cory's parents gave us the tent and sleeping bags years ago and this was our first time actually pulling it out of the bag. (We wanted it for an emergency shelter.) It's really nice! Now we won't look like morons if/when we go camping, hopefully. I had to capture Brady's first moments in a tent. He was so excited!
(Now don't go feeling bad for him. He's had a good life without camping.)
As soon as the landscaping crew left Saturday evening we made a trip to the furniture store. We bought bunk beds for Brady's room, a king bed/springs, head and footboard and matching night stands for our room, and a sofa/ottoman for the basement. We're going to have it delivered once the basement is complete.

We didn't get home from the furniture store until after bedtime, but Brooke felt left out so she got in there with them.

Cory took his phone (of course, it's his best friend), which provided entertainment until the lights were out.

Sunday was a beautiful day, perfect for grilling. This was our first attempt at grilling corn on the cob. One of my favorite things is grilled teriyaki chicken (equal parts soy sauce, lemon lime soda and olive oil). This made enough food for three meals this week!

We bought a few games for our new game closet a couple months ago when Toys R Us had a big sale. After lunch we decided to teach Brady how to play Trouble (as if he doesn't already know!). He really liked (a.k.a. wouldn't stop) pushing the bubble in the center, and finally we just let him play on his own, which was fine with him.

Then we went to some friends' house for a BBQ lunch. They grilled tons of meat and I particularly enjoyed the brats and the smoked beef brisket. So good! The 10+ kids enjoyed the pool while the adults got to chat.
Despite all his shivers Brady actually wanted to go in again later. Brooke, on the other hand, did not appreciate the cold hose water.
It was so nice to relax, and Brady was having so much fun with the other kids, that we ended up staying for 5 hours, along with three other couples. Once we got home we ate dinner, put the kids to bed, and made an attempt to organize the garage. We finished off the night with the latest episode of the Bachelorette. Bye-bye Craig M! It was an enjoyable and productive weekend.

Wow! What a busy couple of days! And the photos are great. My favorite is the three heads in the tent, because Brady's looks the same size as Cory's.
jampacked and fun! I'm glad you're enjoying yourselves. What a great weekend.
Ending any day with The Bachelorette is quite a treat. That is the show I look forward to the most. Ali drives me up the wall though.
And man alive, I am so jealous of all your furniture shopping excursions. I'm still waiting to go on my first one!
Also, I'm so glad the hail storm didn't hit you guys. That would have been awful timing with your new landscaping. Which is beautiful by the way!
Can't wait to come up and see the new house and you guys of course! We'll have to get together soon.
