11 Months

Colin has the most interesting eye color.  They mostly look gray, but sometimes they look green and other times they look blue on the edges and light brown in the middle.  They definitely aren't the blue eyes of our older two, but they are pretty cool looking.
Colin started taking steps about a week before he was 11 months.  He's really quick around the furniture, and he'll usually attempt a few steps before falling down and crawling.
Right at 11 months he got a sore throat.  He wouldn't nurse or drink from a bottle.  My mother suggested we try giving him formula from a sippy cup (duh, don't know why I didn't think of it myself!) and that worked.  I don't think he would have stopped nursing had it not been for the sore throat, but I'm not all broken up about it.
He also refused to take a pacifier those few days.  Not only would he turn away or spit it out, he would grab it and chuck it.
Once the sore throat cleared up he started getting more teeth.  He is snotty and drooly all over again.  He's working on two more bottom teeth, which will make 6 total once they finally decide to make their appearance.
Despite the usual challenges of babyhood, Colin has really turned a corner.  He is much happier and more independent.  He falls asleep quickly for naps, usually taking a 90-minute nap in the morning and a 2- to 3-hour nap in the afternoon.  He sleeps 10 hours at night, FINALLY!
We recently stopped with the formula and started giving him whole milk.  We're trying to get him used to the cold milk, but he's still resisting that.  Between the cow's milk, no pacifier, better sleep, and walking, Colin is basically telling us he's ready to grow up now.  At least, that's how we're interpreting it, and we couldn't be more thrilled.
Brooke thought he would look cute with her hat on.
