Tour of California

We set out for a tour of Califonia and hit some cool spots. Our first stop was Fresno where Brady played with cousins and we met our nephew Isaiah Ortega.

We also got to visit long-time friends Jared and Audrey Medaris. Jared was Cory's roommate at BYU, and we try to visit them when we can. By the way, they LOVE Disneyland.
We drove up to Sacramento and visited Joel, Melanie, Ethan and Megan (first time meeting Megan). We went to Old Town, the Capitol Building, the LDS Temple and the State Fair. We had a great visit and two nights of restful sleep on their double layer air mattress. Seriously, it was so comfortable!

After a stop at the outlets in Gilroy, (the garlic capitol of the world) we headed west to Monterey. Unlike the hot weather in Sacramento, we enjoyed cool temperatures as we walked along the boardwalk in Santa Cruz. Cory ate lobster at a restaurant on the Wharf, but I played it safe with a chicken salad.

We were all impressed with the sea life at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. We saw sea otters, hammerhead sharks, a sea turtle, jelly fish, sting rays, etc. We also walked along Cannery Row in Monterey and stopped at the beach where Brady and a pigeon had a staring contest.

We stayed at a hotel in Salinas, which is between Santa Cruz and Monterey. We went swimming in the pool and Brady really had fun, despite the less than warm water.
