8 Months

Yay for romper season!  With this warm weather Colin's eczema is bound to improve.  Actually, his cheeks already feel much softer, and we haven't had to oil up his head for a month now.
He started crawling at 7 1/2 months, so our kids have been all over the map with that.  Brady: 6 1/2 months; Brooke: 9 months.  This mobile stage is nice because he is more independent, but he also gets hurt quite often.  Colin and that wood floor are not friends.  Too bad he can't seem to remember that.
He can go from his hands and knees to a sitting position.
Finally, a smile.  Blurry, but I'll take it!
He's also standing up against things...
...then he falls.  The bumps and bruises stage is in full swing.  We've recently discovered he's a breath holder.  Three times now he's been so angry that he holds his breath when crying.  His lips turn blue, his eyes gloss over, and he goes limp.  No fun for the rest of us, but we're getting used to it.
Finally I decided he'd be safer inside the basket.  He wasn't too happy about that.
But then he found a book and was content for ten minutes.
We finally stopped swaddling him for naps.  He falls asleep on his own for naps with a pacifier and the humidifier on high.  One step closer to a more independent sleeper.
The pediatrician wanted to check his weight at 8 months.  He's still on the same growth curve, so we're happy about that.  8 months stats: 17 lbs. 3 oz. (20%); 29 inches (90%)
Here are a few clips from the last couple months.
